BIRTHDAY BASH!!

Well this weekend was another one to go down in the books.  Very productive and very fun!!  Friday night was low key.  Matt and I stayed in and I cooked a big dinner and we watched Christmas movies.  I fell asleep halfway through Christmas Vacation, we were both exhausted from such a busy week.  Saturday, Matt had to study for most of the day, so I went shopping!  I got half of our Christmas shopping done and found some time for a little retail therapy of my own :)  Saturday night we celebrated Heather's birthday.  Heather and I have known each other since our days at Harding.  We lived together while in school and had a house together in Little Rock for a couple of years too.  We've been through so much together and I was thrilled to be able to help her ring in another year.  It was such a fun night!!  WARNING: lots of pictures below!!

Matt makes fun of all of us, he says that he has never met a group of friends who celebrate birthdays like we do.  I guess we just look for any reason to get together and have fun.  It really is kind of funny, but I love it!!  This morning we went to church and then had a delicious brunch.  I came home and didn't have to work too hard in talking Matt into taking a big nap.  Perfect Sunday afternoon.

I just finished putting up all my Christmas decorations as well as our two trees.  (Yes, some may think it's a little early, but when you are out of town as often as we are, you enjoy things when you can.)  Here are pictures of our trees.

This little 6 footer is in our bedroom - I call it our "old school" tree.  It's full of all the ornaments that Matt and I collected as kids.  It's really sweet and I love curling up in bed at night with a tree in the room.

A Week Full of Fun!!

WOW, this past week was great.  I worked three days and then we had meetings in LR Thursday and Friday.  I don't know if it's because work went so well, or maybe because I had so many other fun things going on in between.

I'll start with Wednesday afternoon where I found myself in heaven...a massage followed by a pedicure and manicure.  I could totally get use to that on a weekly basis :)  Thursday, after our meeting, I met Kyndall at the Capital Bar for drinks and dinner.  Afterwards, we went to see WICKED.  If you don't know what this broadway show/musical is about, it is the story of the witches in the Wizard of Oz before Dorothy ever came into the picture.  I had no idea how great it would be and it completely exceeded all my expectations!  (Right up there with Phantom of the Opera, my favorite, which I've seen in NYC and London).  This is the only picture I got of Kyndall and I, right before the show. 

We wrapped our meetings up on Friday at noon and I just have to say once again how blessed I am to have the job that I do.  I LOVE providing medicines to patients who can't live without them, but what also makes my job so great are the people I work with.  I truly have THE BEST team anyone could ask for.  When we're together it doesn't even feel like we're working because we have so much fun while doing it.  My job is just one more blessing that comes from above and I am so thankful for it!

We are now in for the night, with a full house of food, finishing up laundry and thrilled to have had such a nice weekend with Matt's family.  Matt and I got to Louisiana, Friday night around 6:00, just in time for some FABULOUS shrimp etouffee that his dad makes.  (There is one problem when I go to see Matt's family, I eat my weight in food!  They always have such good cajun meals, I cannot resist.  My tummy is still recovering!)  Jack was coaching his last game, so Emily brought the kids over and we played for most of the night.  I can't even begin to describe how fast these little munchkins are growing.  I am so blessed to be a part of such an amazing family and to have another niece and two nephews who have this girl wrapped around their fingers. 

Saturday was spent sleeping in, enjoying coffe on the bayou and fishing with the boys.  Matt and I ran around that afternoon (I bought a couple more things to decorate the house with for Christmas...as if THAT was needed :) and that night everybody came over to the house for steaks, potatoes, veggies and lots of dessert.  Jack, Em, Matt and I were going to head out for a little bit of fun, but decided that staying all curled up at the house sounded much better.  We enjoyed a great morning at church and spent the afternoon enjoying more time with the kiddos. I am looking forward to heading back to Monroe in a couple of weeks for Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures of the kids...

Well, I can already tell that one day I will be one of those annoying moms who is always wanting pictures.  I just never get enough of my nieces and nephews, so I can't imagine what life will be like with my own.

A lot of fun things in store for this week...date night tomorrow, a massage and mani/pedi on Wednesday, dinner and drinks at The Capital/WICKED on Thursday with Kyndall, and then it's the weekend again!!

This Will Make You Smile...

Well, I can't believe that it's Wednesday.  This week seems to be going by quick and I'm loving it.  I've had a productive day at work, have already run 2 miles, have a roast in the oven for dinner and I am looking forward to nestling in on this cool evening.  I am LOVING the cooler weather and wish it would just get colder. (I'm ready to wear my coats:)

This is just a quick post with some PRECIOUS pictures.  We are so blessed to have nieces and nephews that we love and adore!  I am really looking forward to this weekend when we go to Monroe to see Matt's family.  I love those kiddos and am ready to see them!  I will have many more pictures to post when we get back of Olivia Kate, Jack Henry and that growing boy, Sam Wyatt.  For now, here are some fall pictures of Brynlee and Emma, Landon and Brandi's girls.
