A Weekend Full of EVERYTHING

We had an awesome and eventful weekend around here, but first let me say that I am SUPER EXCITED that this week is only a three day work week.  I love the holiday season and I'm looking forward to spending some time with my family.

Friday night, one of my old team members came in town, Paul Mingus.  A group of us met him at Cajun's Wharf for the U2 coverband, called UZoo.  They were great!!  We had a fun time "letting our hair down" for a couple of hours.

Mark and Rhonda

So good to see PAUL!!

Saturday, we slept in until 9:00 (which was so nice) and then headed down to War Memorial Stadium to tailgate before the game.  The weather was perfect!  After watching the first half there, we left and came home to watch the rest of the game on our comfy couches.  The HOGS brought home another "BIG W!"

My old neighbor, Timmy T - so good to see this guy!!

Jules and Shelly

Kyndall and Charla

After the game, Matt and I cleaned up and went to The Butcher Shop for a very nice dinner.  We enjoyed a couple glasses of Pinot Noir, filet mignon, twice baked potatoes, salads, chocolate creme brulee'...needless to say this kid was DONE after that.  It was so good!!  Some of my favorite nights are just quiet, romantic dinners with my sweet husband.

After dinner, Matt was out like a light because he had to work at the hospital on Sunday.  I, however, could not take my eyes off the OU/Baylor game.  BAYLOR PLAYED AN AMAZING GAME!  I was so excited to see Oregon lose to USC and went to bed with a smile on my face after Baylor beat OU.  Can we say HOGS ranked at #3?!?!

After church this morning, I went to eat brunch with the girls at 1620.  This afternoon, Kyndall and I went to see 'The Nutcracker Ballet' @ Robinson Center Music Hall.  I had forgotten the story line since I hadn't seen it since I was a kid.  We had a great time - love making memories with my sister!!

And yes, we were there a little early obviously...I promise we weren't the only two people there ;)

I'm winding down, with dinner on the stove, just waiting for my favorite to walk in the door.
Hope everyone has a SHORT AND FABULOUS week!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Holiday Pretties

I love the holidays for many reasons and one of them is HOLIDAY PARTIES.  When the holidays hit, there is so much going on and so many reasons to buy a GORGEOUS little number.  I can think of 3 upcoming events that I will need a beautiful dress to wear, and here are some of my favorites that I have recently seen.

WOW!

Blue is my favorite color...

Christmas Red

LOVE the rosettes (hate the shoes)

Perfect jewel-tone color

Love the fur on the bottom

A little more casual, but I love animal print

A chocolate color with sequins = Elegant

All of these are Rory Beca or Alice+Olivia dresses...I love them!!!  I am trying to tell myself not to buy ANYTHING until I get to New York!!!  I just have so little willpower when it comes to shopping! :)

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

It's Christmas @ the Fitzgerald's

I'm so thankful for a nice, relaxing weekend!!  As you can imagine, since Matt had to work, this kid was decorating like crazy!!  Here are a couple of fun things I've been putting up around the house for the holidays.

Our 9-footer in the living room - all red and gold

I did red and gold garland above the fireplace this year to match the tree.

Light up presents on my end tables...

On the piano...

Christmas trees in the guest bathroom and bedroom

I still need a centerpiece for the dining room, but haven't found anything I love yet.  I used gold chargers, plum napkins and sequined chocolate brown ornaments as place settings.

Breakfast Nook...

My new favorite purchase...the tree topper on our bedroom tree, which lights up.  The colors I'm using in here are red and green.

Our 6-footer in the bedroom, full of all the ornaments Matt and I collected as kids.  It probably needs some more ribbon, but I love it!!!  Nothing makes me happier than to lie in bed @ night with the tree all lit up!!

Trees on our dresser

Can you tell that Christmas has hit the Fitzgerald house?!  I am loving it, and loving that my sweet husband never says a word about me spending more $$$ to make it so festive :)

Today has been a gloomy, rainy day...perfect for laying in bed.  I eventually got motivated, threw on my Hunter rainboots, rain jacket, and was out the door being productive.  When I walked in the door this afternoon this is what I found...
I swear, Jovie thinks she's a human!!  I love it!!

Matt's been off work today since he worked the weekend shift and has a pork tenderloin in the oven for dinner ;)  Hope your week is off to a great start!!!

Friday Favorites

Hooray for the weekend!!!!  I am looking forward to getting lots done around here, while Matt has to spend the weekend working.  BOO!!  So, check back for lots of decorating fun!!!  And if you're one of those people who gets their panties in a wad thinking that I am overlooking Thanksgiving, then don't check back!!  There's nothing that bugs me more than someone ranting about how those that "decorate" before December are forgetting the meaning of Thanksgiving.  Actually, it's one of my FAVORITE holidays and I LOVE spending that day with family.  For me personally, I am thankful EVERY DAY for all the things God has blessed my life with and it shouldn't matter if there's a tree in my living room on Thanksgiving or not.  OK, I'm off my soap box :))  Here are some of my Friday Favorites....

SO excited to spend Saturday here

Our tickets just came in the mail for this fantastic show we will see in 3 weeks!!!

My little brother, Landon, turns 30 today!!!  I am very blessed to be his sister and can't imagine being more proud of someone.  He is a wonderful christian husband, loving father, and works hard in everything he does.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNY!!!!!

I had more recent pictures, but sadly didn't have them saved to my drive and my NEW computer crashed :(  I'll be taking tons over the holidays to make up for it!!!

A Little Bit of Everything

This past week/weekend went by too fast!!!  There's lots to catch up on, but first things first....  Our good friends Brent and Gina (who live in Monroe) welcomed their precious baby boy Reid Walker on October 31 at 8:53 a.m. weighing 6 lbs 14 ounces and absolutely beautiful.  Matt and I are SUPER excited to meet him!  Check out this little guy!

Sweet little angel!

Thursday night, Matt and I went over to Mark and Rhonda's for dinner.  Rhonda's brother, Justin, is one of my favorite people in the world and was in town.  This is the only picture I got of us, but it was SOO good to see him!!

Friday morning, Rhonda asked me to go with them to her kiddos program @ Pulaski Academy.  I love her kids, Ashlan and Conner, and was very excited to be a part of their big day.  After the program in the auditorium, I got to see each of their classrooms.

Me and Ashlan

Friday night, my parents came in town and got here right before dinner.  We all went to Cantina Laredo for some yummy Mexican food.  Saturday morning, we got up and made my favorite (biscuits and gravy) for breakfast and enjoyed laying around for some game day.  That afternoon, when Kyndall got off of work, we went to Alley Oops for lunch and then she, Mom, and I went out to do some shopping!

My Mom and Dad look amazing - both have lost so much weight!! I'm very proud of them!

While we were out shopping, I found these fabulous wine glasses I had to have for the holidays...

That night, we ordered in pizza and camped out at the house for an incredible night of football!!  I made a delicious pizza dip and we had the LSU/Alabama game on in the living room and the AR/SC game on in the bedroom.  It was a FANTASTIC night!  We even had a cozy fire going...

Sunday was full of a great church service, brunch, and then Mom and Dad had to head back to NWA.  It was such a relaxing weekend and I am so thankful for such a fun and loving family!  We always have a blast when we're together.

Matt and I enjoyed a lazy Sunday afternoon with a nap and then went to see the movie 'Tower Heist' with Ben Stiller.  I liked it, but you might want to wait for it to come out on DVD....just sayin!  Matt has to work this weekend so I will be doing none other than decorating our house for Christmas!!!  Yes, it's just the second week in November, BUT the AR game is next weekend in LR, then it's Thanksgiving, then we are off to NYC!!  It's my favorite time of the year, so I am ready to enjoy it!!

The Holiday House is also this weekend and I am super excited about going with my sister and spending the day getting a start on my Christmas shopping.  That's right...I haven't even begun to start!!

I have to leave you with this ADORABLE picture of my nieces.  Brandi sent this to me yesterday and my talented sis-in-law made these outfits with her monogramming machine!!  Love these turkeys with their little Uggs!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!
