Disney World 2022

Like I said in my previous post, I want to go back and highlight some of the memorable moments I had in 2022.  We surprised the kids on Christmas morning of 2021 with a trip to Disney in February. If I could have things my way, I would plan a trip somewhere for the week of Valentine's every year. (No boxes, cards, parties...it was incredible!)

We were in Disney for 6 days and 5 nights. We had the best time jumping from park to park.  One memorable moment that occurred while we were there is that Disney took away the face mask mandate while we were in one of the parks. The national announcement made for many loud cheers and yells throughout Epcot. (And lots of very full trash cans of masks.)

We stayed at the Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and spent our first night at Disney Springs. We ate dinner at T-Rex Cafe.

Our first day in the parks was spent at Magic Kingdom.  We started the morning eating breakfast at Cinderella's castle. Then, spent the entire day riding as many rides as we could. We ate dinner at Gaston's Tavern.  We were at Animal Kingdom the next day and loved the Avatar ride. However, Reese's favorite will always be the Kilimanjaro  Safari.

The next few days we spent at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We ate at Space 220 at Epcot and it was so much fun and just a really neat experience. We also LOVED the crepe' place that was next to Remy's Ratatouille ride. I LOVE Epcot!!  I think it might be my favorite. We loved Star Wars and Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios and ate at the Sci-Fi drive-in again.

It was a wonderful trip!  We had excellent weather and were able to ride everything we wanted to and more.  We ate excellent food, watched fireworks at Epcot, swam in the pirate pool at the resort in the evenings, and soaked up all the magic of Disney.

A Whole Year....

I can't believe it's been an entire year since I've posted.  Time is flying, and I wish I could slow it down.  2023 has started off a little rocky to be honest.  My Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer the first week of January.  The pathology report told us that is it a rare and aggressive form of cancer (adenocarcinoma).  We have been sitting on pins and needles awaiting the PET scan results. On Friday, January 13, he met with his Oncologist to find out that the cancer is confined to the colon, it has not spread, in fact in barely showed up on the scan.  To say that we are overjoyed is an understatement.

I have been on my knees praying to God (with so many other prayer warriors) that the cancer would be contained, and God has answered our prayers. Dad is in the process of meeting with surgeons this week and next, as we hope to have any cancer removed as soon as possible. I would be lying if I said this hasn't brought some things in my life into perspective. (That will be an entirely different post.)

With a new year on the horizon, I want to get back to blogging. Not for anyone else but me.  This has been my own little scrapbook, dream catcher, baby book, vacation log, and everything in between. As I do my best to capture moments of 2023, I'm going to go back and highlight some of my favorite memories of 2022 as well. It was such a wonderful year, full of blessings.  Too much goodness to forget. 😉
