Easter Weekend 2017

We had a great Easter weekend!  The older I get each year, the more I LOVE Easter.  I think it's a combination of a lot of things.  I love watching my children learn about Jesus and the ultimate sacrifice He made, it's the excitement in their eyes as they go through their Easter baskets on Sunday morning, it's the anxiousness of hardly being able to wait to hunt Easter eggs, and it's talking about how our Savior has been resurrected and lives today. The weather was beautiful on Saturday, perfect for our Hyde Park neighborhood egg hunt.

Brooks was not very happy about hunting eggs

Her "golden" egg ;)

Sunday morning, the Easter bunny hooked these two up! :)

We went out to Mom and Dad's after church on Sunday.  Mom had the house decorated so cute and she cooked enough food to feed an army. It was SOO good!  After lunch, we had a big Easter egg hunt on the farm.

Mamaw and I have birthdays 5 days apart, so we celebrated with my favorite cake that Mom made for us.

We're thankful for another wonderful Easter Weekend with family!

April Shenanigans

The month of April is off to a fast start for our little crew.  Matt is finishing his last semester before graduating with his BSN in Nursing, and the weather has really started warming up.  Don't get me wrong, we still have some cold days, but we've been loving more time outside. Two weeks ago we took the kids to Lake Atlanta for donuts and a walk around the lake on Saturday morning.  It was a gorgeous day and the kids loved playing on the new playgrounds and riding around.

Matt and I had a double date night with Amanda and Chad and jumped around to different restaurants on the square that night.  We had appetizers at Oven and Tap, dinner at Pressroom, and dessert and drinks at the Hive.  It was such a fun night!!

Here is my sweet girl all ready for church. She got to hold little Griffin for most of the time and loved every minute of it!

We have our caterpillars and are ready to start our butterfly garden this year.

Mamaw turned 85 on April 12th!

Matt planted our garden last weekend.  I'm really hoping all the rain we've had isn't going to wash everything out.

We had a couple's shower for Kayla and Scott last weekend as well.  It was a "Nacho Average Wedding Shower" - obviously Mexican themed :)

Next up...Easter Weekend  :))

Birthday Parties and Bridal Luncheons

Our sweet neighbor, Campbell Johnson, turned 3 a week ago and we had the best time at his birthday party!  (I'm going to be honest, Kara, I might steal the idea for Brooks birthday!) Brooks Vaughn is obsessed with trains.  He LOVES them and had such a great time, as did Reese!

Matt went to LA last weekend to fish with his Dad and hang with some friends. He had a great time, but we were happy to have him home.  Saturday, I took both kiddos to Claremore, OK to celebrate Kayla and her upcoming marriage to Scott.  We had a bridal tea and luncheon at the Pink House.  It was a very cute and quaint restaurant.  The company consisted of all family and we had such a nice time being together.  We are excited for May 12, the big day!!

WAHOO!!  Daddy's home!!!
