Our Seaside Escape to the Bahamas

Matt and I were able to jet off on a trip, just the two of us, the day after my birthday.  Our trip to the Bahamas was absolutely wonderful and we loved spending 5 days on the sandy beaches of Nassau. We stayed at The Cove at Atlantis and it was perfect.  The Cove is an adults only area so we were able to enjoy all the amenities, such as the water slides, casinos, restaurants, and everything on property, yet still had seclusion. It was one of the best trips we’ve been on.

Wednesday, we spent our day at The Cove pool after we landed.  We had dinner at Olives that evening and checked out the casino and Moon Bar that night.  Olives was just as good as I remember it being!!

Thursday, we spent most of our day at The Cove pool.  We ate lunch every day at Sip Sip.  They had a great lobster dip with pitas, and the hummus was my favorite. We met Rhonda, Mark, Ashley, and Bennet at Cafe Martinique (down by the marina) that night for dinner.

Friday, we were out on the beach by 10:00.  We spent the day listening to the waves, drinking Pina Coladas, and I enjoyed the quiet afternoon while diving into my book.
It’s been two years since we’ve been to the beach without our kiddos and it was so nice to just read, relax, and doze in and out of sleep.  Friday night, we had a reception to attend and then we went back down to the marina and walked around.  We ate delicious pizza and went to the Pirates Tavern for a drink afterwards.

Saturday, again...we spent ALL day on the beach.  The sound of the waves crashing on the sand put me to sleep more than once.  Later in the afternoon, Matt and I went to ride the lazy river and do a few of the water slides.  We had a blast!

That night we had dinner at Nobu. It was the best sushi I have ever tasted. Nothing compares to how fresh and delicious it was.  In fact, we were so full from that amazing meal, that we didn’t even have the energy to go out.  We went straight back to our room and curled up in bed.

Sunday morning, we went to breakfast at Mosaic and it was FABULOUS!  I had fresh salmon with capers, chocolate chip pancakes, and steak slices.  Afterwards, we decided we needed to walk off some of those calories so we went to find presents for the kids.  We got them t-shirt’s and stuffed animals that were sea turtles.

We had to leave for the airport after checking out around noon. Our trip home was nice and we were ready to see our little nuggets. If anyone is looking for a great beach destination with tons to do, this is the place.  I’m so thankful for our time away
together. It’s always refreshing to reconnect with love.

38 is GREAT!

So, I’m about a month behind with all that we’ve had going on, but I have to capture how blessed I was to celebrate another year on April 17.  I can’t believe that I’m typing the numbers 3-8?  Where does the time go? For the love...I’m two years from 40!!

In all seriousness, I had the best birthday just because of all the love that was showered upon me. Work was good.  I had the privilege of going to lunch with Mom at the Crumpet Tea Room and was able to take my little crew out for birthday dinner at Chick-fil-A.  And then of course we ended our night playing outside and eating bundt cake.

It was perfect, just as I would have expected.  Thank you to all those that took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday.

Crash Landing....

I have so many blog posts to catch up on but unfortunately, the ole’ HP laptop (that I’ve had for almost 7 years) has crashed and burned.  I’m on the hunt for a new computer this week, but until then, the posting of ALL our fun and adventures will be delayed. :(

Easter 2018

Our church had an Easter egg hunt and cookie decorating party for K-3 on the Sunday before Easter, and my kiddos loved it.

We had our annual Hyde Park Easter egg hunt on March 31st, the Saturday before Easter Sunday.  I didn't get too many pictures because it was pretty cold out.  The kids grabbed their eggs and were ready to go home.

We had the whole crew over Saturday afternoon for our own little egg hunt in the backyard and pizza.  Blake and Kyndall were in town with Evie. It's safe to say fun was had by all.

Easter Sunday was one to celebrate.  We are so thankful that He is Risen!!
