We didn't get to make the trip to Monroe, LA over the holiday this year because of COVID-19. So instead we spent the weekend at the farm with family. We loved being out on the lake and just enjoyed a change of scenery. Blake put on his annual fireworks show, which was awesome as always! It was a great weekend and we are always grateful for those that fight for our freedom and enable us to celebrate a day like the Fourth of July. 💙

Celebrating 40 During A Pandemic
Well, if I don't document it, did it really happen? 2020...the year that I turned 40. We had big plans to be in NYC for my birthday. It was going to be 4 days full of good food, lots of shopping, and broadway shows galore. We had birthday reservations at Tavern on the Green, brunch at the Plaza, alllll the plans.
Then, along comes COVID-19. 😞 This virus has changed plans for the entire world. We had to cancel our trip, and I spent my BIG DAY at home. Sure, I was disappointed that I couldn't go to New York, but it was truly the most amazing day. Thanks to so many people that I love.
I woke up to homemade cards from my babies, my college besties sent me Marco Polos before I was awake. Kim Hall sent Chick-fil-A to my house for lunch, my mom brought me Crumpet Tea Room and orange rolls (my favorite!). Flowers were on my doorstep from my sweet sister, and Cortney and Kim Sparks arranged for a birthday parade of wonderful friends driving by honking, throwing candy, and delivering cupcakes. My lifelong friends had a virtual house party to lift my spirits, and Matt came home with gorgeous flowers. To end the night, we celebrated with our amazing neighbors, who had grown to be more like family. Kim outdid herself and made me a video of many friends and family sending their best wishes. It really was the most perfect day. I laid my head down that night feeling so grateful for the many blessings in my life over the last 40 years. God has been so good. I trust Him and pray that He continues to bless my family and all those I love.
