Easter 2016

We had a very blessed Easter weekend this year.  Our weekend festivities started off with the Annual Hyde Park Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning.  The kiddos had fun hunting eggs and we had tons of great food to devour with neighbors.  Afterwards, the kids enjoyed some fun in the bounce house.  We live in an awesome neighborhood and absolutely LOVE IT!

On Sunday morning, the Easter bunny left baskets full of goodies!  In fact, he may have gone a little overboard. I think he heard we were going to the beach in September, so he left Reese and Brooks a couple of bathing suits, sandals, a few outfits, some bubbles and golf clubs to play with outside, some coloring books, and a few toys.  (Side note...reign it in next year, Mom!)  The kids were so excited and I cherish those little faces that light up.

After baskets, we headed off to a wonderful church service with our church family and to Bible class.  Then, Mom made an AMAZING lunch for all of us (Bourbon ham, hash brown casserole, green beans, cream corn, bread, a green salad, strawberry pretzel salad, a peanut butter pie, and chocolate chip cheesecake). Seriously...it makes my mouth water just typing that!  Everyone was at our house for dinner and the big Easter egg hunt.  And let's not forget how spoiled all these cousins are.  Not only did the Easter bunny come see each of them at their own homes...but Mimi and Papaw, and Great-Mamaw each brought them more Easter baskets.  I'm telling you, these kiddos are blessed to be so loved!!!

My favorite piece of Easter Art that came home with Brooks.

We were so blessed to have a wonderful family Easter.  We have so many things to be thankful for,  but our greatest blessing is that Jesus rose from the grave after being sacrificed on the cross so that we might one day spend eternity with our Lord.  I hope we are all grateful for what Easter Sunday truly is about!!!

March Madness

I can't believe that the month of March is coming to an end...where is this year going?  We've had a lot of fun lately, and here are the pictures to prove it.  :))

Mimi came to read to Reese's MDO class as the "mystery reader."

Matt and I had a double date night with Ashley and Jake (some of our neighbors) and started the night grabbing drinks at the Foxhole Public House and then had dinner at Oven and Tap.

Amanda and I loved spin class so much one night, we decided to celebrate with margaritas afterwards! ;)

This big guy has been helping out with the laundry.

My sweet boy had his second double ear infection in 6 weeks.  Bless his little heart, it made me so sad.  He wanted LOTS of extra snuggles, and is finally on the mend.

We went to our first movie as a family of 4.  Zootopia was the first movie R and B saw in the theaters, and they did GREAT!

Our life group went bowling together Sunday night.  This was the first time for Reese to bowl, and she really liked it.

Brooks man really liked the ranch and French fries.

Watching Mama bowl a strike! ;)

This little guy has become a big fan of our playground.  He loves the swings and has become obsessed with the slides (especially the swirly one).  He loves to go down on his stomach. If the weather is pretty and warm, you can more than likely find us here.

On Aunt Bee's birthday, March 25, they came into town to celebrate.
As you can see Evie is alwyays a BIG HIT!

Reese wore her birthday hat to the "party" and Jack kept wanting to "blow out the candle."

Sweet girl

Oh, these two...T-R-O-U-B-L-E.  They crack me up when they're together...two peas in a pod.

Happy 31st Birthday Aunt Bee!!  We had a great weekend with you, Blake and Evie!!!

60 Years Together

On March 3, my Papaw and Nana celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary!  60 years!!!  That just blows my mind. How amazing...and what a great example they have set for us. These two wonderful Christians have created quite the legacy for our family. It was so nice for all of us to be together, on Saturday, March 5, even if it was only for half a day. I took tons of pictures to capture such a blessed event and I'm forever grateful for such loving grandparents. We ate delicious food, devoured a beautiful cake, the great-grandchildren had an Easter egg hunt in the back yard, and Uncle Jack surprised them with little Easter treats.  After pictures in the front yard, we sat around and sang church hymns together. (Boy, do we love to sing!!  And (if I might brag for a moment) we sound pretty dang good too. ;))  We all held hands and closed our wonderful day with a prayer. We've made lots of memories together and this day of celebration just added to them.

I count my entire family (both paternal and maternal) my greatest blessing given to me on this Earth.  They are amazing!  God has richly blessed us.
