14 weeks....

Well, we are 14 weeks today!!  I have been told this is the magic number when people stop having such horrible morning sickness and vomiting.  I am PRAYING that is correct. Crazy to think that we're approaching 4 months...dang!!  Time Is Flying!!!!
I will also concur to the fact that after your first pregnancy you start showing MUCH faster for the next baby.  WOW!!

How Far Along: 14 weeks

Weight Gain:  I actually had lost weight at my 13 week appointment due to how sick I have been this time around.  Hoping to gain a few lbs. at our 17 week appt.

Maternity Clothes:  UGH!!  Not a fan, so I'm really not wearing anything maternity yet except for my leggings and one pair of my maternity AG skinnies.  Everything regular clothes.

Stretch Marks: Nope

Best Moment:  I just love hearing the heartbeat when we go into our appointments.  It's a miracle to think of that sweet blessing growing inside of me.  At 13 weeks, the heart beat was around 160 bpm.

Miss Anything: I miss feeling good!!  This first trimester has been unbelievable, with so much nausea and vomiting.  I had nothing like this with Reese.  I will say it's slowly getting better and has continued to improve the further along I get.

Movement:  You may think I'm crazy, but I have felt the fluttering and the "goldfish swimming in my stomach" off and on since 9 weeks.  I know what to expect the second time around and movement has definitely started.

Food Cravings:  None - whatever I can hold down at the moment.

Anything Make You Sick:  Nothing in particular.  There is truly no rhyme or reason as to when I get sick.  It could be 3x in the morning, or a couple times in the afternoon.  I never know?!>

Gender:  I'm thinking GIRL, only because the heartbeat is almost exactly the same as Reese's was.  That's all I have to go once again, could be TOTALLY wrong.

Belly In/Out:  In

Happy/Moody:  Most of the time happy! I will say that this pregnancy has been much more tough on me.  I think it's a combination of how sick I've been, chasing around a 17 month old, and working full-time.  I believe my exact words to Matt the other day were, "Ya, we're done after this one, unless we do a surrogate."  :))

Looking Forward To:  Feeling Much Better!! We're also hoping to plan a weekend to go to Little Rock and see Kyndall and Blake in February.  If it works out, I am looking forward to some sister time!!

Hump Day Happenings

It feels good to be somewhat caught up with the ole' blog.  I know I still have some more of Christmas to highlight, but for the most part I am getting there.  We've been staying busy and I am slowly beginning to feel a little bit human again.  (This nausea/vomiting is for the birds!) Anyways, I'll do a pregnancy post soon, but for now, here are some of my favorite things about "our lately."
This is a little late, but a few weeks ago, I got to enjoy a GNO with these fabulous high school friends of mine.  We had the best time catching up at Table Mesa.  I truly couldn't be more blessed to have lifelong friends like these girls who continually bless my life!!
On January 18th, this very special guy had a BiRtHdAy!!! I thank God for this man!!
That Saturday morning, we skipped Little Gym and enjoyed a Panera breakfast and let Daddy open all his presents.  He was a good boy this year! ;)  Reese was a big helper with unwrapping!

That night, we had a sitter and I got to take my main squeeze out to Theo's for a delicious dinner! (I love this picture of him...all dressed up in his button down and jacket with a drink in hand.) Yep! This is the guy I fell in love with!!

Last weekend, Matt had to work, so Reese and I enjoyed the gorgeous 60 degree weather after church and played outside.  She LOVED wearing my sunglasses.

Last night, we went to Chuy's for dinner and it was delicious!!  Reese was a fan as well!
And lastly, I will leave you with this beautiful view.  We are hoping to book a beach vacation for our little family in FL before the arrival of our next nugget.  Fingers crossed that this Mama can get it all planned....
Happy Hump Day!!

First Trimester Down - Baby Diary #2

The shock that has hit me over the past two days is indescribable.  I've been feeling really weak and tired.  My first thought was that I haven't gotten my flu shot yet and I must be getting sick, GREAT!!   After making a lengthy drive to Eureka Springs for work, nausea hit me and I could barely stay awake.  You've probably guessed where I am going with this.... When I took a pregnancy test on the afternoon of December 4, I was ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED to see that it said "positive."  So shocked that I cried!  I immediately started thinking, "We're not ready for #2," "I didn't plan this," "I LOVE wearing my regular clothes, I hate maternity clothes," "How could this happen when we couldn't have our first baby without fertility drugs?"  Truthfully, I am still trying to adjust to the fact that I am growing a little miracle in my belly.

We went to the doctor yesterday to confirm with a urine test that we are in fact PREGNANT.  I am actually going in next week to have an ultrasound because of our previous infertility issues.  This is at my request.  I had an ultrasound with Reese at 6 weeks, 8 weeks, and then again at 12.  I know this time around we will not be as closely monitored, and that's going to be a little hard for me.  I was kind of spoiled with Dr. Phillips, who did whatever we wanted to.  (Gosh, I will miss him...he was FABULOUS in our delivery of Reese!)
I am going to try and document my first 12 weeks of pregnancy within this blog post and then post it when we get to the second trimester.  Right now, nausea is definitely getting stronger, and is worse in the morning. I'm already having to really watch what I eat.  I am guessing we're around 6 weeks, but I will know more on December 11th, after our ultrasound appointment.

December 11 - Today, Matt and I went to the hospital for an ultrasound. We're showing that our little blessing is 6 weeks and 5 days.  Heartbeat was 125 bpm.  Unfortunately, I am showing cysts on one of my ovaries (nothing new for me, I've battled these most of my adult life), but that will account for some painful days ahead.  I got a call from the doctors office that they have also identified a hematoma that is 5.5 mm (extremely small) and this could possibly cause bleeding.  Our prayers (just as they were with Reese) are for a perfectly healthy baby. Matt and I've talked about it, and we don't care if it's a girl or boy, we're just blessed to have another little nugget on the way.

December 19 - We are 8 weeks tomorrow!!! So far, I've had no bleeding and we're thankful for that.  However, I've been so much more nauseated and sick this time around.  Energy is diminished, and I truly have to force myself to eat so that I don't throw up.  Getting through this first trimester is my Christmas wish!!! I just want to feel better.

December 26 - The day after Christmas Matt and I met our OB, Tiffany Weathers. I asked around and she was highly recommended by a few friends of mine.  I had all the normal blood work done and everything came back looking good. We also got to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler. I was shocked the nurse could find it, being only 9 weeks along, but it was such a great sound!
I am becoming more use to the idea of expecting another baby. Dr. Weathers gave me Zofran for the nausea and thank the good Lord above it has helped me tremendously. The vomiting and nausea has been so horrible, it's truly affected my attitude about this whole situation.  It's amazing how much more excited I am about this baby now that I can stomach a few things and am feeling more like myself. We will be 10 weeks on January 3 and will go in for another ultrasound on the 8th to check the hematoma that they are monitoring. We continuously pray for a beautiful, healthy, baby.

January 4 - It's been a rough couple of days.  Matt has been working nights (we're going on night 3) and Reese hasn't been sleeping or napping per her usual self.  When you combine single parenthood, nausea and fatigue from pregnancy, a horrible cold and sore throat, and a toddler that won't sleep, it's a bit rough.  I have been praying that Matt would be able to move to days sooner rather than later. He will HAVE to be off of nights before July 31st, that's for sure! :))

January 8 - We had another ultrasound today and were able to hear the heartbeat and see it flickering on the screen (always an amazing sight to see).  Our little nugget is almost 11 weeks.  We were able to see the arms and legs kicking and moving.  He or she is a mover and a shaker....would NOT quit moving.  I told Matt, maybe that is why I've been so sick?!?  We were also happy to see that the hematoma they were monitoring has gone away, thank you Lord!!  The heartbeat was around 164, and very strong.  We are thanking God for a good appointment!  Here is the first picture of our little guy or girl!!

January 17 - Things are going good.  We are 12 weeks today and I am SOOO looking forward to the next trimester, where I am praying that I start to feel a LOT better.  On a great news note, Matt has been moved back to days.  This is such an answered prayer for me!!!  He is such a help at night when I've been feeling awful, helping with Reese and so much more.  I'm grateful to his supervisor, Jason, for working with us and understanding that it's been a rough 12 weeks.  I now get to curl up with "my favorite" every night before I fall asleep.  :))

And One More Equals Four....

Yep!!  The Fitzgerald house is expanding by one!! Matt and I are excited to announce that our next bundle of joy will be arriving around July 31.  This was not planned, but such a blessing.  Truthfully, it's been a really rough first trimester.  I have had horrible nausea and constantly throw up, sometimes 3-4x a day. In fact, I woke up this morning, almost 13 weeks and got sick twice. We've had two ultrasounds and heard the heartbeat 3 times which is extremely exciting. I go back to the doctor this afternoon for another check-up.

We said it during our last pregnancy... we do not care whether this is a girl or boy, just as long as he or she is healthy. The flu season is truthfully freaking me out!!  I have heard of too many people being hospitalized, losing babies, and fighting for their lives while battling this virus. We pray every night that God would take care of us and bless this little miracle growing inside of me. Please keep us in your prayers as we get ready for our second munchkin.  Life is going to get a bit more crazy!!!:))

Christmas Fun

I can't believe that Christmas has come and gone, and I didn't blog ONE SINGLE THING.  I am definitely going to try and make it a priority to blog about what continues to go on in our little life here in AR, as we start the new year.

The month of December, we fit in tons of HOLIDAY fun.  I am happy to say that I was able to take off 17 days and just enjoy my sweet family.  Here's a little peek from our month of December....

We had our first BIG snow in NWA!

This sweet little face loved it!

We went to the square in Bentonville to look at all the lights.
This might be my favorite picture from the season.  It captures just how much Reese LOVED our Christmas trees.
We wore Christmas dresses and clothes as if they were going out of style. Reese is all decked out for Sunday morning church.

We got to hang out with the "Santa" Chick-Fil-A Cow
The whole family enjoyed the Rogers Christmas Parade

The three of us did some serious shopping!!

These two cutie-pies helped us decorate our big tree in the front room.

Matt and I enjoyed a date night at Bonefish and then went to see "White Christmas" at the Walton Arts Center.

We enjoyed pizza and then drove around looking at Christmas lights one night.

Baby girl wasn't too sure about the big guy in the red suit....

Smiling = Success!!!  YAY!

One snowy afternoon, Reese chowed down on some chili.  It was hilarious and I couldn't believe she liked it so much!! I had to capture it!

After being shut in for 3 days, we decided cookies were needed for everyone.
Reese's first, and she LOVED them!

Matt and I snuck out a couple of night's before Christmas to enjoy a date night at Carrabba's. Thanks to the best Mom and Dad for baby-sitting.

It was a great month of enjoying the holidays.  I'll be back with pictures from Christmas day!!

Thanksgiving Day 2013

This year was our year to spend with my side of the family and we all loaded up and went to Tulsa for Thanksgiving Day.  Thankfully, Matt was off work and was able to spend the day with us.  (Since he is the "low man on the totem pole" right now, just starting at Mercy, we weren't sure if he would have the holiday off.)
The day was full of so much fun, lots of food, goofy pictures, and much more.  We also celebrated Christmas since it was the only time all 32 of us would be together.  Well, almost 32...Aunt Kelli was home sick and couldn't make the trip. :(  We exchanged gifts and still managed to squeeze in a surprise Sweet Sixteen Birthday Celebration for my twin cousins, Mallory and Madison. As we drove home that night, I was reminded of just how very blessed our family is.  I hope you were able to count your blessings and thank God for all that you have this Thanksgiving.
