A Halloween Weekend

Well, this weekend has been great...we've been very productive around here!!  Two weekends in a row?!  I know, I can't believe it either!!  After sleeping almost 11 hours Friday night, Saturday we were up and at 'em!  Our housekeeper came @ 9:30, so we started our morning at The Red Door with a delicious brunch.  We had a morning full of running errands and finished up everything that afternoon.  Saturday night was our Halloween party @ Ryan and Heather's in Benton...we miss our old neighbors SOO much!!  The costumes were fantastic and we had a blast!!!

I was the outlet and Matt was the plug-in!!

Jack Sparrow and his lover

Loved this!! Heather and Ryan were the leg lamp and 'fragile' box from The Christmas Story!!

This was my favorite!!!  Thom and Tara were Ron Burgandy and Veronica Corningstone!!  I love Anchorman!!

Heather and Alex as Danny and Sandy from Grease

The decor on the tables was great!!  Heather painted black trees on burlap and used it as a table runner with homemade spider napkin rings!!

I'm Ron Burgandy??

Breaking news!!!!  Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego??  Can you find Waldo?!?

We had the best time!!  I'm very thankful for fun-loving friends!!

Sunday, we went to late service and then grabbed groceries and came home.  We finished staining our deck yesterday!!  That was our October project...good thing because today is the 31st!  :))  Matt and I are both off work today and we've just been lying in bed watching the Today Show.  The costumes are FANTASTIC!!  The whole cast is the royal family and I'm loving it!!

We'll be staying in tonight, getting ready for all the cuties in their costumes.  Lots of candy to hand out over here!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

The Big Easy

I have spent the last week in meetings, but I can't complain because those meetings were right in the heart of New Orleans!!!  I flew out of Little Rock on Tuesday afternoon and a group of us arrived early enough to grab dinner at Mr. B's on Royal St.  It was delicious!!  I've said it before, but I LOVE the team I work with and we always have so much fun.  Wednesday morning we started our meeting down at Cafe Beignet...

With Brittney and Whitney

That night all 6 of the districts dressed up for Halloween and Lilly rented out the upstairs of Pat O's on Bourbon street.  Our team decided to dress up as a group.  Every district has a name, and our district is the Little Rock A-Team.  (Being that we always bring our A-game and we ARE from AR.)  Instead of individually dressing up, we decided we would go as the A-Team.  Rhonda did a great job in getting our tshirts made and getting everyone the "accessories" we needed.  It's great to work for a company that can have so much fun!

Mark, Marcus, Nicki and Brittney

The A-TEAM!!

This is blurry, but I couldn't quit laughing...Nicki's bullets were falling off the entire way to Pat O's.

We were starving by the end of the night, so we made a late night run to 'Mothers' - it was the worst I have eaten in a long time!!  We had fried chicken, waffles, french fries, potato salad, cornbread, bread pudding, etc.

It was a heart attack on a plate!!

Thursday night, after a day of meetings, we went to the coolest place.  It was called Corks and Canvas (obviously a place where you can drink while painting).  Our team had a blast!!

All the ladies ;)

The instructor walked us through how to draw and shadow.

My finished product!!

This was such a great idea and I had a blast!!  We actually have some talented artists on our team!!

After a morning of meetings on Friday, I was excited to make my way to the airport.  It was a great week, but I am so glad to be home and I'm looking forward to keeping these feet on the ground for at least two months! :))

Racing For A Cure

Well, all I can say is that I can't believe it's almost November!!  We were busy around here this weekend, but I enjoyed being home.  Matt worked Friday and since I didn't have to go to our meeting in NWA, I met Brittney for drinks after work at Bravo.  We sat on the patio and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.  Joe was in town for the weekend and he met us for a cocktail too. I left in time to get home and put a Papa Murphy's pizza in the oven for Matt and we spent the cool night curled up at home.

Saturday morning, I got up with the sun for Race for the Cure.  This is an AMAZING event here in Little Rock and this year we had over 45,000 people participating in the run/walk downtown.  David is a good friend of mine whose mother, Robin Watson, is fighting breast cancer.  We formed a team in her honor and had the best time supporting such a wonderful event.

I loved Sabrina's tights!

Loved seeing this sign!!

This was one of our favorite signs!!

Hilarious!!!  It was great to see so many supporters on the sidelines.

There were so many people, you couldn't run if you wanted to.  After the race, we went to Sabrina's house for brunch.  We all brought a little something and sat around drinking mimosas and eating lots of delicious food.

This was only half the spread...we had SO MUCH FOOD!!

Group picture after the race

WE LOVE YOU ROBIN!!!!

It was a great morning supporting a wonderful cause with incredible friends.  After brunch, I came back to the house and started laundry, cleaning up around the homefront, and of course watching the HOGS play.   Good game...a little too close for comfort, but glad we won!!  Matt and I spent the rest of the afternoon staining our deck.  We were able to get everything done but the actual floor of the deck.  It will be a project that will be continued next weekend ;)

Saturday night, Matt and I went on a little date to The Big Orange.  It's a new restaurant in town close to our house in WLR with a menu full of salads, burgers, shakes, etc.  It was really good and really reasonably priced.  Afterwards, we walked around the promenade and did a little shopping and then came home to curl up on the couch and watch some football.

We had a great morning at church and enjoyed lunch at Cracker Barrel afterwards. It's been raining for most of the day here, making it PERFECT for an afternoon nap.  I am leaving on Tuesday for meetings in New Orleans so I have the laundry done, groceries bought for the hubby and the house clean.  He should be able to manage until I get back on Friday.  :))

This should be the last time I get on a plane for meetings until after the first of the year...and that makes me super happy!!!  I am taking a day off on Monday so I can enjoy a long weekend when I get back into town on Friday.  Hope everyone has a good week!!!
