Sunshine On My Mind

We are soaking up all these beautiful sunny days with lots of fun. We celebrated Jack turning 5 at Braum's (his choice) for dinner.  We are so blessed by this sweet boy and love him so.

The kids have enjoyed some summer days with Mimi and going to Barnes and Noble.

Playing dress-up ;))

Making "boats" on Saturday mornings :)

Reese and Brooks spent a Wednesday morning visiting Mamaw.

Matt and I had lunch at Tusk and Trotter on a Friday.

Brandi, Kyndall, and I drove to Tulsa on July 15 to decorate Lindsay and Aaron's guest bathroom.  They've moved into their new house and have been so focused on getting the nursery ready for sweet baby Eli, we thought we could help with some of the rest of the house. It was a wonderful day of being together.  We made a big run to Target, to buy some bright and colorful rugs and accessories, and then ate lunch at McAlister's. I love these girls so very much!!

We now have a betta fish.  Meet Apple Clifford.

These two little fish had swimming lessons with Ms. Donna. I must say, Brooks did much better this year, but still cried a few times.  We'll get there ;)

Our garden is producing crazy amounts of cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. We are loving it! This was the biggest cucumber we had EVER seen.

Matt and I had a date night last weekend and started the night at Preacher's Son for a cocktail.

We went to the Hive for another cocktail while waiting for our reservation. While sitting there, Matt decides that Flying Fish sounds so much better.  I've got to be honest, fried catfish sounded pretty good. ;)  So, off we went....

Loving the new water table

We both were off work last Tuesday and just spent the day together. It was nothing exciting, but we went to breakfast at Press Room, and then caught up on running errands, working in the yard, and just enjoyed being with each other. It was perfect!

Brooks' Birthday Bash

We had so much fun celebrating Brooks last weekend. His last day of the week at MDO Summer session was on Thursday.  I surprised him with a cookie cake and his class sang Happy Birthday to him and enjoyed a big sugar rush before heading home. Ms. Jennifer was so sweet and made him a birthday crown.

On Saturday, we had a big family birthday party at the Aquatic Center.  We had so much fun swimming with cousins and eating cake.  Brooks loved every minute of it...except leaving. :(
Reese didn't nap that morning because she wanted to pick out a present for him so she CRASHED before we were even out of the parking lot.  We grabbed Bariola's on the way home and had a relaxing night in.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration BIG BOY!!

My Baby Boy is 3!!

Brooks Vaughn...how in the world are you three years old?!  I know that they say time flies, but really, I cannot believe my sweet baby boy just turned 3.  You are growing before my eyes, SO MUCH!  Since you've had tubes in your ears, nine months ago, your vocabulary has exploded.  You have your own sweet demeanor, yet have a temper that can flare up when your sister presses your buttons.  Here are some of the things I want to remember about you at this precious age.

Before you tell someone bye or before we go to bed, you always say "I need a kiss and hug" It is the sweetest thing.

You still want to hold my hand when I lay down with you for a nap, or at night for bed.

You have really been loving summer session at MDO and you take off running to your classroom every day when we walk in. :)

You love to be outside! Your face gets so red because you get so hot easily, but it doesn't seem to phase you.

You have done a great job potty training.  We are officially out of diapers and your pull ups are dry in the morning when you get up.  I'm crossing my fingers that this is it!!

You are slimming up and losing all that baby fat. It makes me happy to see you growing so strong, but sad to know you are no longer a baby.

You still sneak downstairs in the middle of the night (EVERY NIGHT) and get into our bed. I secretly love it!

You love building a house/fort and one of your favorite places to curl up and watch a movie is among all the pillows on our bed. You bury yourself behind them.

You still have your "lovey" that you ask for every night.  And we are getting rid of the pacifier very soon.  (Judge all you want!)  You only ask for it at bed time. I'm not stressing over it. :)

You still LOVE all things train, Paw Patrol, Mickey Mouse, and of course Nemo and Dory.

Time can slow down at any moment.  It's hard for me to believe that 3 years ago today, we were bringing you home from the hospital.

Brooks Vaughn, you bring so much joy to our life and I thank God every day for allowing me to be your mother.  I pray that you will ALWAYS look to the Lord, let Him guide you.  Never lose faith in Him.  Mommy and Daddy will always be here for you, will always love you, and will always have your best interest at heart.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!!!
