We are fully enjoying this summer and making the most of the long days and HOT weather. Here are some of the fun and exciting things we've been doing.

Reese went to a 3 day gymnastics camp, and LOVED it!

She's excited to start classes in the fall.

Date Night at Core Brewery and then dinner at Ruth's Chris.

We were so happy to celebrate Matt being finished with his BSN! So proud of this Superman!!

This is Reese reading to her Moana doll at Summer Session I.  Miss Kylie sent it to me, and I thought it was one of the sweetest pictures EVER!

I'm pretty sure this is against our POA regulations. :)

Dinner and drinks with Kayla at Foster's

Part of our Lilly team served at the Maggie House (which is the foster home in Charleston, AR) We mulched and planted flowers, as well as stained their fence.

Matching with my girl on Sunday

GNO with my favorites

Soaking up all the sunshine and fun we can!!  I absolutely LOVE summertime with my tribe!

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day this year.  I feel so very blessed to have the greatest Dad in the world, and to also have such a wonderful husband who is the greatest Dad to our sweet kiddos. We went to church Sunday morning and then we let Matt chose where he wanted to eat for lunch. Of all places, he chose Cane's Chicken. Don't get me wrong, I love some Cane's, but we could've splurged for something a tad bit nicer. ;)  We ran through the drive through and then all enjoyed 2 hour naps, while Daddy enjoyed some peace and quiet while watching the US Open.  It was a wonderful day and we are so thankful for Daddy, Poppy, Pawpaw and Great Papaw.

My beautiful cousin, Lindsay, is 33 weeks pregnant with her first child, a beautiful baby boy who they are naming Eli. Two weeks ago she received some devastating news that she has stage 3 breast cancer. She received the news on a Thursday, and the following Tuesday had her first round of chemo. The doctors will be taking Eli early, at 36 weeks, to give Lindsay the opportunity to receive the maximum dose of treatment in order to shrink the tumor.

Let me tell you a little bit about Lindsay.  She is one of the most God-fearing women I have ever met.   For being 31 years old, she has a faith that can move mountains.  Lindsay has always been this way, even before her diagnosis.  She carries herself as a strong Christian woman and I've always had such respect for her.  I know that the Lord is going to take care of Lindsay and sweet baby Eli.  She has thousands of prayer warriors bringing her before God every day.  This will be a journey that will make her stronger than ever as she travels this road.

There is a song by Casting Crowns, called "Just be Held"... and there's a verse in the song that says, "your life is not falling apart, it's falling into place."  I've never thought of trials and hardships in this light.  It has challenged me to look at things differently.

I would ask that you would please join me in praying for a safe delivery for Eli, that Lindsay would be completely cured of this cancer, and that Aaron, her husband would be given the strength and courage he needs to be her rock.

"I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see" - 2 Corinthians 5:1

"Now then stand still and see this great thing the Lord is about to do right before your eyes." -
I Samuel 12:16

"I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." -
Isaiah 46:4

"The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still." - Exodus 14:14

"Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid.... Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9

Sunday Best

I haven't done a Sunday best post this year, so I thought I would update that my nuggets are growing at warp speed ;)  I love the comparisons when I look at these pictures week over week.  I'm so thankful for their growth and sweet smiles.

Vacation Bible School

There are so many reasons I love our church, but one of the things I appreciate and treasure most is VBS.  This is the first year that both of my kiddos have been old enough to go, and they loved every minute of it. Our theme this year was "Shine Like The Stars," Phillipians 2:14-16.  We talked about stars in the Bible, like David when he fights Goliath, and John the Baptist and Elijah.

The adults in our life group were in charge of the snacks for around 200 kids.  We had a great time serving together and putting our creative juices to good use. (yeah, right...I was just following directions. #notthatcreative) It warms my heart to see and hear all these sweet kiddos learning more about Jesus and the Bible. I pray that every day, these sweet ones of mine will let their lights shine.

The Snack Pack :)

Big Time Branson

I don't think it's any big secret that my crew loves to spend a little time in Branson each year.  We have vacationed there since Brooks was 10 months old. We LOVE the Marriott Willow Ridge off of Green Mountain Dr. It is tucked away, right off the strip, with a grocery store less than a mile away.  We always get a family suite because it has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and two king beds for us.
The outdoor pool is heated and SO BIG.  They also have an indoor pool, kiddie pool and two hot tubs. They have fun children's activites every day, although we mostly just stick to the pool.

As you can see, I'm a fan! ;) When you have two children that are 22 months apart and so young, the idea of taking extravagant trips with them is ridiculous (in my opinion). In their little world, they don't know a difference...they just enjoy time with Mommy and Daddy.

This year, we went to Silver Dollar City on Saturday before checking in.  It was so much fun. It wasn't too hot yet and all of our cousins came with us. Reese and Jack had a great time together, and Brynlee and Emma Grace were so much fun.  Evie was a little trooper and hung in there as long as she could.

We checked into our hotel that evening and everybody pretty much crashed.  Sunday morning, Blake, Kyndall, and Evie swam with us and ate lunch with us until they had to drive back to LR.  We took naps and headed back down to the pool for the evening.

Monday, because it's tradition to go to the Disney Outlet store and Polo store for some goodies and then eat at Cantina Laredo, that's just what we did. Our little nuggets were exhausted! We barely got back to the car from lunch and they were both O-U-T.

It was such a nice little get-away. I can't wait to go back at Christmas. I'm thankful for some time to unwind and spend with my favorite people.
