JAMES TAYLOR with My Favorite

Matt and I drove to Tulsa on Monday night and saw James Taylor at the BOK.  We've seen him before in concert, and he's just amazing!!  Bonnie Raitt played with him, and we had the best time.  We stayed the night at the Mayo Hotel downtown and just slept in Tuesday morning and drove back later that day.  It was the perfect mini getaway with my favorite guy in the world!

Valentine's Day

Oh Valentine's Day...I have a love/hate relationship with you!  I think it's great to have a holiday that highlights how important it is to LOVE, but the boxes that must be made, the 42 valentine's that need to be addressed to friends, the party planning, and the treats for my own kiddos, just makes me ready to move right on past this day!  I told myself on Thursday afternoon that next year, I will have a better attitude.

Reese made her penguin box (Yep! Right off of Pinterest) and of course both my nuggets were dressed for the fun day ahead.  Reese had her school party on Thursday afternoon and Brooks had a party on Thursday (Daddy went to) and on Friday as well.

Friday, we had Brooks' Valentine party at Pre-school.  He is such a boy!!  As soon as we all got there, he didn't care one bit about handing out cards, eating cookies, or small talk with friends...he just asked, "Can we go home now?"  It made me laugh.  He is my home body who just loves to be with his family and cozy in our house.  I think it might be one of our greatest compliments as parents.

That Friday night, this Mama decided the parental's deserved margaritas, so off we went to Local Lime.  It was SOOO good, as always.

And here are a few of MY VALENTINE

The night we met in May 2008

Our first Valentine's Day together in 2009, we were engaged.

Our weekend was perfect.  It was spent doing "all things responsible."  Some people may not look forward to changing sheets, buying groceries, cleaning up (before the house keeper comes the next week). But the weekend before, we came back late Sunday and I just don't do well rushing into a new week if I don't have a little bit of down time.  I crave it before a busy week starts, so it was wonderful.

Hope Valentine's Day was great for everyone, and CHEERS to it being behind us!

Monroe

We went to Monroe to see all of our Louisiana family the second week of February.  The kids had a great time playing with cousins and enjoyed opening and playing with their Christmas presents. It was a super fast trip for us, and I worked on my Business Review for the majority of the time while there.  We’ll look forward to going back in July, when we can stay a little longer, the weather is warmer, and it will hopefully be a less stressful time for me at work.  I didn't get many pictures, but what I did snap is below.

Snoozin' on the 6 hour drive.

Two sweet cousins, excited to see each other

Naps for ALL!

2019...off to a FAST START!

As I type this, it is February 3.  Where did January go?  The kids started back to school on January 8,  and enjoyed 2 weeks of Christmas break.  Getting back into routine is always nice, but as you can see...we were on the struggle bus for a hot minute.

We went to see Mary Poppins Returns at the theaters the first of January.

We've been playing lots of games.  Think Zingo, Jenga, and Junior Monopoly ;)

This sweet boy's hair is still growing if anyone was wondering...

We've been putting on our Sunday Best and loving Bible class and Worship Too.

We celebrated Matt turning 42!!  This guy is our favorite!! We had a cookie cake for him and some Beats wireless ear buds that I think he likes ;) We took him to Shogun's to celebrate!!

We actually got a little bit of snow on one of the weekends in January. It wasn't much, but boy did the kids love running around in it.  I'm still holding out hope for a really BIG SNOW.

Girls Night Out with these lovely ladies at Tavola was superb.

Reese celebrated the 100th day of school in her Kindergarten class.  She dressed up as if she was 100 years old and also made a snowman out of "100 snowballs."

Brooks got an award at school for kindness.  They give out awards for the different fruits of the spirits, and January, he got to go on stage and was awarded for being kind.

Just because...he's getting SOOO big.

Our sweet baby Garner spent 2 nights at AR Children's with RSV/Pneumonia.  We are praising the Lord for his treatments and that they are now home and recovering.

February is going to be a fun and busy month as well.  We're leaving for Monroe this week to visit Matt's family.  It's going to be a fast trip, but we're excited to see our LA crew.  Then, as soon as we get back it will be Valentine's Day.  I just finished my book for January..."Girl, wash your face."  I thought it was a great read and I've started my book for February.

I hope your 2019 is off to a great start!!
