A Fantastic Weekend

Well, our weekend in Little Rock made up for our crazy busy week!!!  I worked from home on Friday which was a nice break from being out in the heat of the day.  My parents spent the weekend with us.  They have been in Destin, FL for the past week and stopped to visit on their way back through to NWA.  They got in Friday night and we met them, as well as Kyndall and Blake, at Alley Oops for dinner.  It was so good to see them and we enjoyed a quiet evening back at the house after a delicious meal.

Saturday was a busy day.  Matt and I bought a new front door that is going to be GORGEOUS once it's stained and finished and he and my dad spent the day putting it in.  (I just have to say how much I LOVE my parents.  They NEVER hesitate to help out around our house with anything we need done.  My dad and Matt worked so hard.  I had no idea what went into changing a door!)  While they were hard at work, Mom, Kyndall and I went shopping for Reese's nursery.  It is almost completely done.  We added her letters on the wall, I ordered our glider, we bought a lamp and table to go by the glider, and of course shopped for a couple of cute outfits.  (We racked up for Baby Jack too, who will be here in just 11 short days!)  I am so thankful to my Mom who already loves to spoil this little girl!  She, Kyndall, and I had the best time - it's been a while since the three of us have been able to spend the day shopping together!!  :)

Letters above the crib in the nursery

We love the pink plaque above her closet that says
"For This Child I Have Prayed"

Saturday night Blake came over to the house and we all ordered in pizzas and just spent the evening relaxing.  I think it was well deserved for everyone after such a busy day!!
Sunday morning we all went to church together and then had lunch at Chee-Burger Chee-Burger.  Afterwards, Mom and Dad had to head back to Rogers.  I was sad to see them go, but I'll see them in less than two weeks when Baby Jack makes his appearance.

Matt and I spent Sunday afternoon napping, buying him a couple of new golf clubs, and getting ready for the upcoming week.  It's going to be a busy and HOT one!!!

Hope you had a great weekend!!!

28 weeks!!!

Holy Cow!!!  Where has the time gone?!  I cannot believe we just had our 7 month check-up!!  This pregnancy is flying by.  However, I'm sure come August, I will be so ready to have this baby girl that I will think quite differently.  We had our doctors appt this past week and heard a heartbeat of 152 bmp. My blood pressure is great (104/54), wieght gain was 3 lbs.,  and the only thing that I need more of is iron.  I've been anemic many times in my life, so this is nothing new.  I'm just adding an iron pill to my prenatal vitamin daily.

How far along: 28 weeks

Total weight gain: 16 lbs

Maternity clothes: Oh ya!!

Stretch Marks: None...yet (I don't want to jinx myself)

Sleep: Not good at all...I can't get comfortable.  Unisom is my new best friend.

Best Moment of the Week:  I would have to say that our appt was the best moment of the week. A close second would be getting to show my parents the nursery and all the fun things we have for her so far.

Miss anything: Cute clothes...anything not maternity, sundresses, my 4 inch heels, etc.

Movement:  ALL  THE  TIME.  Love it!!

Food cravings: Not craving anything in particular

Anything make you sick: No

Gender: GIRL

Labor Signs: No, I'm sure I'll know when those hit

Symptoms:  My poor back and tailbone are already hurting horribly!!  I know this isn't a good sign at only 7 months but I think a lot of it has to do with my job and the fact that I am traveling in the car for most of the day.  I'm taking tylenol, alternating heat and ice when I get home at nights, and will be getting a new lumbar support for the car.  I pray it will get better before it gets worse.

Belly Button in or out: Neither, it's as flat as a pancake :)

Happy or Moody:  Happy (but you might want to ask my husband, he might say moody ;)

Wedding ring on or off: On

Looking forward to: Seeing Matt's family next weekend.  We're going to celebrate the 4th of July early with everyone since the holiday falls on a Wednesday and Matt will have to work.

I can't believe we're in our last trimester!!!

Father's Day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!!!!
He has taught me more than he will ever know about business, life, and most importantly about how important it is to live each day as a Christian.  He truly is my HERO!

This is the first Father's Day that my handsome husband gets to celebrate, and needless to say I have no doubt that he is going to be the most perfect Daddy for our sweet baby girl!!  Here are some things that make me love this man more and more each day as we prepare for our baby!!

  • The hormones have definitely been all over the place.  Last night I got in bed and bawled like a baby...I have no idea why?  I wasn't sad or unhappy, just crying my eyes out.  Matt wrapped his arms around me, and I fell asleep with him telling me that everything would be just fine.
  • He is so big and strong!!  I love how he held, kissed, and loved on Annah Kate (Clay's little girl in Shreveport) all weekend.  He's going to be such a fun-loving Daddy!!
  • He rubs and massages my feet at least 3x a week!!
  • He is so sweet to tell me to buy whatever I want to for Reese.  (I think it's because he secretly knows that I won't blow our budget or run up the credit card).  Still, it's so nice to have a husband who isn't counting every penny I spend and reprimanding me ;)
  • He is so patient!!  This has always been one of his best qualities, which is great because it's not one of mine!!  I can already picture him soothing our baby girl when she's upset with his deep voice.
  • He has so much love in that BIG HEART of his!!  I just hope he doesn't spoil her rotten!!

I hope every Dad out there had a great Father's Day!!  To my Dad and to Matt...I love you to the moon!!!

Weekend in Shreveport

Matt and I left Friday around 4:00 to spend the weekend in Shreveport visiting Katie, Clay, and their sweet baby girl (almost a year), Annah Kate.  I've said it before, but we LOVE going to see these guys.  They are so laid back, we never have any plans, and we just do whatever we feel like doing at the moment.  Clay had ordered in pizza and we relaxed and stayed in Friday night, just enjoying the company and conversation.

Annah Kate LOVED Matt - anytime he walked into the room, she was all about him.  It was the sweetest thing!!!

Saturday, after sleeping in (which is only until about 7:30 for this kid these days) and picking up donuts, Katie and I headed out to do some shopping.  There is an adorable boutique in Shreveport that I am obsessed with called 'Ladies In Waiting' and I racked up.  I found the Angel Care SIDS monitor that I've been wanting, bought one of the Kalencom Weekender diaper bags, some Aden and Anais burp cloths/bibs, a couple of very cute and stylish hospital gowns for me to wear (yes, I know...some might think it's ridiculous but I love them), some Booginhead paci clips in a few adorable designs, and some absolutely precious clothes. We shopped all afternoon and had a great time!!  Katie surprised me with two of these adorable monogrammed bloomers.  I am obsessed with them and will be purchasing more!!!

Saturday night, we grilled out steaks and cooked potatoes and enjoyed seeing one of Matt's good friends, Clay Davis, who came over to hang out for a while.  Sunday, we went to eat Father's Day brunch and then Matt and I hit the road around 11:00.  Once again, a perfect weekend!!  We are so blessed to have such great friends who we always have a wonderful time with.

Lately...

This week is off to such a busy start!!  Somehow, I can't believe it's only Wednesday.  It was so nice to be home this past weekend.  Matt and I had the best time just getting things done around here.  Friday night was very low-key with a run to Target and dinner at our local Alley Oops.  I think we were both exhausted from such a busy week...the early night was great and we both were able to catch up on some sleep.

Saturday morning was full of cinnamon rolls and then working some more on the nursery.  We hung the curtains, bought a book basket to go by her crib, and then did a little bit of shopping before we went to eat lunch at ZaZa's.  (I am addicted to buying the Kissy Kissy pajamas and gowns.  They are so soft and I love them. I purchased a few more this weekend).  I'll give you a little sneak peak into our "work-in-progress"....

Bedding (the picture doesn't do it justice, it's SO cute!)

Curtains

This little basket is already FULL of lots of wonderful books!!

Not going to post all her adorable tiny outfits, but had to post this one....This white gown has sentimental value, as it was the one that I bought when I found out I was pregnant.  I wrapped it in a box with the positive pregnancy test to share the news with Matt.  She has a big blue headband to match and I love it!!

After some baby shopping, we went to buy Matt new tires for the Tundra and then came home for some R&R.  Saturday night, our friends Tara and Thom had a housewarming party.  They just bought their new house and Matt and I enjoyed seeing everyone and catching up with everybody.

Love these girls!

Matt and Ryan

Sunday, after church, this girl napped and enjoyed being at home all day.  It's a good thing we did, because we have started this week RUNNING.  Yesterday was a very long day, and I was having round ligament pains for most of it.  Needless to say, this baby girl is growing!!  I haven't been able to sleep at all the last couple of nights...I just can't get comfortable.  Again, I guess this is God preparing me for all those nights I won't get any sleep :).

We've got an exciting weekend planned in Shreveport and we're looking forward to seeing Clay, Katie and Annah Kate.

Happy Wednesday!!!!

Emma Grace Turns 2 and Brandi's Baby Shower

Whew!!!  We had a crazy, busy weekend but it was PERFECT!!  Matt and I made the trip to Rogers for a lot of family fun.  We drove up Friday night and went straight to Landon and Brandi's to eat pizza and play.  Baby Jack's nursery is amazing and it's crazy to think that he will be here less than 5 short weeks!!  I read to Brynlee in her "book nook" before bed and the girls were so sweet with Baby Reese in Aunt Kia's belly.  (i.e. - when we said our prayer before dinner, I was holding Brynlee and she had her little hand down on my belly the entire time.  The funniest was before bed when I had Emma Grace all ready and leaned down to kiss her good night, she patted her little hand on my belly and said, "Bye Reese".)  I eat those little moments up!!!

** A BIG SHOUT OUT to my fabulous sister-in-law, Brandi, who gave me 4 tubs FULL of baby girl clothes, 0-12 months.  I am so excited to go through them this weekend and add to Reese's collection of goodies. **

Saturday, it was so nice to sleep in.  Mom made a big breakfast and we started going through tubs of baby clothes.  It was so much fun and I definitely received the hook-up!!  After a morning of R&R, we headed to Emma Grace's 2nd birthday party.  She is obsessed with the movie Mary Poppins and it was the theme for her party.  Brandi did an awesome job with the decorations!!
