Ahh...Saturdays

Hooray for the weekend!!!  This weather has me in such a great mood.  Even though my handsome hubs is working this weekend at the hospital, Reese and I are going to enjoy it.  This morning the first thing I did was turn on game day and light my fall candles.  This is my FAVORITE time of year!!  Reese had her one year pictures taken by Hannah at 10:30, so we skipped Little Gym today.  I must say... I don't think these will be her best pictures.  Let's just say the child didn't smile ONE time. She was a little fussy and tired.  Hey, what do you do??  She's a year old with no attention span and is constantly on the move.

Afterwards, she and I had lunch at Chick-Fil-A and I ran to Perfect Choice to check out some Christmas décor.  (Yes, I am already starting to think about Christmas.)  My mom has a 12-foot tree that she hasn't used in years and is giving it to me to put in our living room.  It's going to be GORGEOUS!

Lil' bit is down for a nap and I am killing time before the Razorback game writing her thank you notes from her party and folding my last load of laundry.  The smell of my fall candles are taking over the house, we're dressed in our red/white ready to cheer on the HOGS, brownies are baking in the oven, and these two girls are looking forward to a wonderful afternoon.

Have a great weekend!!!

First Birthday Party

I know I've said it a million times, but I cannot believe we have a ONE YEAR OLD!!  We had the best weekend and with all the stresses of putting a big birthday together for my sweet baby girl, it couldn't have gone better. Matt's parents drove in last Thursday, Reese's actual birthday, and we had a wonderful time with them.  I am so glad that they got to be here for all of the festivities!!!

Her birthday party started at 2:00 on Saturday and we had a house full of almost 30 people!! I looked around at one point and thought to myself that I will never forget all the special people and loving faces that shared in our big day. Nana and Papaw came over with Aunt Vicki and Aunt Patti, Aunt Nancie and Laura stopped by before leaving town, Jocelyn, Mom and Dad, Landon and Brandi and their kiddos, the Ware's, the Roach's, the Spicher's, Kyndall and Blake came in from Little Rock, the Honea's....the list goes on. We are so very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family surrounding our baby girl.  I need to post Reese's 12 month milestones, but for now here are LOTS of pictures of her big birthday party!!!!

Weekend Recap

Last week was a wonderful SHORT week!!  It flew by and the next thing I knew, Matt was on the schedule to work at the hospital Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  BOO!!  Yes, this is the life of being married to a nurse...a very talented and handsome nurse :))  Friday afternoon I treated myself to a pedicure.  I am in love with oxblood red right now!

I also couldn't help but order a couple of things for our little nugget from the new Matilda Jane Collection - Paint By Numbers.  If you have a little girl, it's adorable...you have to check it out!!

Friday night, Matt and I had a great idea to go to Bonefish for a nice dinner.  (It seems that we forgot we have an ALMOST one year old).  Since he works the next 3 days and I travel for work M and T of next week, we thought it would be a good idea.  Well, Reese was pretty good, she's just 11.5 months.  Of course she doesn't want to sit still, wants to touch and grab everything, and gets bored within 2 minutes of doing one thing.  We would've been better off going to Chick-Fil-A. (Except I wouldn't have enjoyed that delicious pomegranate martini :)) I say all this and know that the days of us going to a nice restaurant as a family are over for a little while.  We'll be saving those for date nights!!

Playing in the grass right before we left.

Saturday morning, Matt was out the door at 6:30.  Reese and I had a big morning at Little Gym and After a big nap, we grabbed some lunch and headed to the lake.  Aunt Nancie and Laura are in town from TN and Jocelyn and Mamaw joined us too.  We all had a blast!!!

Laura and I rode the tube for a while yesterday.  I am feeling it today!!

We missed Matt, Kyndall, and Blake, but had a great time!!  We hope the next time we get out there, Ted and Jimmy can join us too.  This morning, Reese and I made it to early church and then we went to eat with Aunt Nancie and the girls at Bob Evans.  (Random? But it was pretty good.)  I spent the afternoon wrapping birthday presents and making my to-do list for the BIG BIRTHDAY party this weekend.  I will be traveling tomorrow and Tuesday, but took off a couple of days this week to get everything together.

Someone is having a "Pretty In Pink" FIRST birthday party!!

We are very excited because Matt's Mom and Dad will be here in just 4 days.  Reese is VERY EXCITED to see her Amie and Poppy!!  It's going to be a great week!!

Labor Day Weekend

I always look at Labor Day as the end of summer.  Fall is my favorite season, but it's the last weekend to soak up some warm sunshine, lounge on the lake, cookout with friends and family, and end another season.  I get a little sad, but then there's college football that cheers me right up!!  That's the best thing about Labor Day.

I have to be honest, I haven't really been ready to say good-bye to summer.  I have been wishing it would last just a little bit longer.  And then, I went to Mason's....  I saw all the adorable boots and fall clothing and started to get a little excited.  Fall is just around the corner, but our family definitely had a big Labor Day weekend, soaking up the last days of summer.

We had a BIG morning at Little Gym on Saturday.

Reese wasn't feeling her best, but still did GREAT!

After Little Gym, we went to Kinsey's First Birthday party!!  It was so much fun and I am so happy to be back so that my girl can grow up with Tara's sweet munchkin.

After the party, we headed out to the lake.  It was the perfect afternoon!!  We listened to the HOG game and then went back to Mom and Dad's and had burgers.

I got to meet Aaron, Lindsey's boyfriend for the first time!  Such a great guy.

It was great to see Austin again too.  Love our big family so much!!

We didn't get home until 10:00, so we slept in Sunday morning and were planning on going back to the lake, but the storms held us off.  Instead, we met everybody at the Buss Stop in Garfield and ate lunch.  Then, we girls decided to make wreaths.  I've been wanting to get a Razorback one and here it is.

You can tell someone was up in the mix of everything!  :))

Sunday night, we went to a cookout with some people from church and had a great time.  Monday was spent sleeping in (which is 7:00 for us these days!! :)) We had breakfast, went on a nice morning walk, ran some errands, enjoyed lunch at P.F. Chang's, and then finished the night at Gigi and Poppa's for swimming and a cookout.

It was the perfect Labor Day Weekend!!!
