I can't believe it's been an entire year since I've posted. Time is flying, and I wish I could slow it down. 2023 has started off a little rocky to be honest. My Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer the first week of January. The pathology report told us that is it a rare and aggressive form of cancer (adenocarcinoma). We have been sitting on pins and needles awaiting the PET scan results. On Friday, January 13, he met with his Oncologist to find out that the cancer is confined to the colon, it has not spread, in fact in barely showed up on the scan. To say that we are overjoyed is an understatement.
I have been on my knees praying to God (with so many other prayer warriors) that the cancer would be contained, and God has answered our prayers. Dad is in the process of meeting with surgeons this week and next, as we hope to have any cancer removed as soon as possible. I would be lying if I said this hasn't brought some things in my life into perspective. (That will be an entirely different post.)
With a new year on the horizon, I want to get back to blogging. Not for anyone else but me. This has been my own little scrapbook, dream catcher, baby book, vacation log, and everything in between. As I do my best to capture moments of 2023, I'm going to go back and highlight some of my favorite memories of 2022 as well. It was such a wonderful year, full of blessings. Too much goodness to forget. ð
