A Post Full of Prayer

If I'm really honest with myself, I've been out of sorts lately.  Most of the time, I'm on my A-game.  Let's be real...I'm a type A personality that usually has it all together.  Working full time in sales, raising two sweet babies, exercising 3-5x a week, cooking dinner at home at least 4x a week, making time for my handsome hubs, and the list can go on and on, as I'm sure it does for all of us.

But this past week has been different. Perhaps it’s been a little more stressful with work while having to do home study and 13 tests, but reality is...my heart is very heavy for a lot of people that are hurting right now.

I feel that I have prayed so much and so often for the same things, that God should be thinking...”Oh, it’s you again. I already know what you’re going to say.”  Of course I know that God wants me to come to Him any time I have a prayer on my heart, but lately these precious friends have consumed my thoughts.  Today and everyday I pray for:

David Bradley - God heal him! May the results from his brain tumor come back as something they can treat, and that he will be completely healed.

Joe Crabb - God I pray that they can figure out what is going on with the bleeding in his body. I pray that you heal him, give the doctors answers on how to treat him.

Nick Slagle - God, I pray that the doctors would be able to treat the anaplastic astrocytoma that is in his brain. I pray that he would have many years left with his precious wife and girls.

Bob Lawson - God I am so thankful for the tumor in his brain being benign. I pray that he would see that this diagnosis was not a coincidence, but that you have had your hand on him the entire time. Please be with him as the doctors try to shrink the brain tumor so that Bob can get his eye sight back.

I am so grateful for the avenue of prayer and I will continue every day to pray for these individuals.  God is with you, He is with all of us.

A Slice of Summer

We had a great weekend without any real plans.  Friday night after eating dinner, we took the kids to the pool.  They loved it! I'm a little embarrassed to say that it's almost July and that was our first trip to the neighborhood pool.  It's so close...we really don't have an excuse.

Saturday, we got up and grabbed breakfast at Chick-Fil-A then headed to the LPGA at Pinnacle. The weather was amazing and we enjoyed every minute.  Afterwards, we had lunch on the patio at Fuzzy's.

Sunday, it was a rainy morning so we were a little late to church because this Mama loves rainy mornings and truthfully I just had a hard time getting out of bed ;)  We had a good morning at church, grabbed Taziki's for lunch and instead of going to the lake, like we planned to, we opted for rainy afternoon naps.  It was SO PERFECT in my book, and our yard desperately needed the rain.

I'm so thankful for weekends with no plans that just turn out to be great! We're getting excited to head to Monroe this next weekend for the Fourth of July. It's going to be wonderful to see and spend time with family.

Father’s Day Weekend

We had a great time celebrating our favorite Daddy last weekend. Unfortunately, Matt had to work the Saturday before Father’s Day, but we were able to get out to the dock and swim as soon as he got off work. We had a relaxing evening with family, grilled burgers and hot dogs, and the kids fell sound asleep all the way home.

Sunday morning we went to church.  Matt and I taught our Worship Too program with 26 kids during the second service.  Talk about an all-star Dad!!  (And he didn't complain once ;)) I was able to get a picture with my AWESOME DAD too.  He is the BEST one out there.

That night, Amanda and I took Matt and Chad to Bonefish Grill to celebrate just how FANTASTIC they are. We had the best time and boy are we thankful for awesome Christian men to lead our children and our families.

I think when all was said and done, Matt had a great Father's Day.  When we count our blessings, we count him twice.  We love you to the MOON babe!!  Thanks for being our everything!!

A Bucket Full of Memories

It's so nice to have a computer back and as anyone can see, I've been pumping the blog posts out right and left.  I feel like we've had so much going on, and so much fun within the last 6 weeks, I don't want to forget anything.  I settled on the Mac Book Pro...holy cow!  There is such a learning curve compared to the HP, but I think I'm going to like it once I get the hang of all of the fabulous bells and whistles.

Our summer has started off with a lot of fun.  We've been going to crawfish boils, celebrating friends birthday's, enjoying date nights, and soaking up the sun on the lake as much as we can. Bring on the rest of this fantastic season!

We recently went to Shogun for a hibachi night of fun. (The kids love this place.)  Next, we spent our Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market on the Bentonville square for the first time this year.  Our weekend was off to a fast and great start.  It was topped off with a wonderful morning at church and Emma Grace's party at the aquatic center. I can't believe our sweet EG is 8 years old.

I count my blessings daily for all the memories I'm making with these people that I love so very much.
