Lately

Since having a baby, I haven't had as much time to blog.  Instead of blogging, I (of course) want to spend more time with my precious little family.  So, you will probably be seeing more posts of this sort.  Ones that just recap what we've been up to with pictures.

4 Months Old

Oh baby girl!! It's crazy to your Dad and me how fast you are growing!  I am a little late on this post, as you are about 4 and a half months now....  Could we please stop time because right now you are the biggest snugggle-bug EVER!!! We love it!   Here are some of our favorite things that you're doing....

Your are talking all the time and you love to hear that high pitch.  You have figured out that you're the one making that noise and you are so proud of yourself and again,  do it ALL THE TIME.

You've ALMOST rolled over from back to tummy twice.  You've rolled over from tummy to back once and haven't done it again.  You're SO close!!!

You often sleep on your side in the crib (truthfully, it kind of worries Mommy) but I can tell you will be a tummy sleeper when you get the whole "roll" thing down.

You're a ROCKSTAR SLEEPER and are now going down between 7 and 8.  Your bath totally soothes you and prepares you for bed.  You're sleeping until 5 or 6 in the morning.

As far as food goes, you're still taking 6 ounces at each feeding.  You were spitting up a little after your bottles for a couple of weeks, but we made a few tweeks (such as sitting you up more while feeding you and making you burp no matter how mad you get when we take your bottle away), and you're doing much better.  (Thx Aunt Brandi for those tips!)

I love your smiles, you smile at anyone who smiles at you.  However, your grin is ear to ear when you see your Mommy or Daddy!!  It melts my heart!

We went to the doctor on Wednesday, and your stats were 80th percentile in weight and 50th percentile in height (which shocked us both, we could've sworn you were taller).  You received your 4 month shots and did great!  You are now in 6 months clothes.  Mama had to pack all your 3 month gear up and it made me so sad, but we are glad you're growing just like you should be!!

Every month gets more fun and we are so excited to see what the next 8 months will be like!

To My Handsome Man....

Happy Birthday to my Handsome Husband!!

I fell in love with you when we dated long distance for 7 months.

I knew you were the one for me when we got engaged.

I promised to give you my everything the day we said "I DO."

I thank God every day for allowing us to share our life together.

And I fell in love with you all over again and (if it's possible) love you even more, now that we have Reese.  Seeing you with our baby girl makes me realize that you are the ONLY one for me!!!

Our New Year

2013 is off to a great start!!  Our New Years Eve was perfect.  We enjoyed a quiet night in by the fire, ordered pizza, shared a bottle of wine, watched some football, and loved on our sweet baby girl.  Truthfully, I didn't want to go anywhere after being gone from the house for 5 days without any power.  I wanted to sleep in my bed (with our new king size heating blanket...HEAVEN), eat on our dishes, watch the big screen, and enjoy our warm couches. It's the little things. ;)

My half week back to work was great.  I'm quickly realizing that I am quite a fabulous multi-tasker.  I guess Moms have to be! I know it won't happen every week, but I checked EVERY SINGLE THING off of my to-do list before we left town on Saturday morning. A good feeling!!

We left for Monroe Saturday and went straight to the hospital to meet our new niece, Charlotte Claire Goode (AKA Charlie Claire).  She is the sweetest little thing in the world.  She weighed 8 lbs 5 ounces and was 21 inches long.  Reese is super excited to have 7 cousins now!!  Emily, Jack, Olivia Kate (7), Jack Henry (almost 6), and Sam Wyatt (4) are all doing great.  I think it's safe to say this little girl will be getting a lot of lovin'.

Reflections

It's hard to believe that 2012 has come to a close.  What an amazing year!!!  When I think of 2012, there are two things that I will always associate this year with.  One is January 14, when my Papaw Garner went to be with the Lord.  The second is when we welcomed our sweet baby girl on September 12.  It's so strange how one thing can be so sad and the other thing can be so joyful.  This year has reminded me that the circle of life will always go on.  While Papaw's time on earth was done, another little life was just beginning.  I miss him often, and I can still hear his voice (answering the phone when I call). I do, however, find comfort in knowing he's in heaven watching over baby Jack and our sweet baby Reese.  There is no doubt in my mind he watches them grow everyday.

I thank God so many times a day for our sweet angel! I never thought I could love someone so much.  She has been such a blessing to Matt and me and I think we would both agree this has been the best year of our lives, because of her.  We had lots of other fabulous moments this year and I tried to capture them in pictures below.  Again, we have been so blessed and I pray the Lord watches over us and blesses us with health and happiness in 2013!!

Love this man!

Christmas Eve

We usually celebrate Christmas as a family on Christmas day.  However, because of the weather, we decided to celebrate on Christmas Eve.  Dad and Landon closed the store (which has never happened as long as I can remember) and everyone came to Mom and Dad's early in the morning.  We opened presents, drank mimosas, enjoyed Christmas brunch, played with all the kiddos, took naps, and enjoyed warm soup and desserts for dinner.  Although I was sad that we would have to leave on Christmas day to drive back to Little Rock in order to get home before the winter storm hit, it was a perfect day.  *Warning...picture overload below*

We all had such a great time exchanging gifts and were very blessed to receive such nice things.  But what matters most is that we were all together, making memories, and loving one another.  Thank you for a WONDERFUL Christmas, Mom and Dad!!!
