My baby is double digits this year. I cannot believe you are 10, Brooks Vaughn. This year we gave you the option of a birthday party with friends, or going to a KC Chiefs football game. Of course you chose wisely, and we will be making memories cheering on the Chief's in 2 weeks.
You love all things sports. ⚽️ππ Playing on travel baseball again last year was a lot of fun. You really started to grow into your own playing center field and pitching. We’re playing again this year on the same Prospects team and are gearing up for fall tournaments. You’re also playing Upward football (because you don’t want to be tackledππ»), and are thinking about BYA basketball.
We have to keep you busy in all these sports, or you would just sit in front of the Xbox and play video games for the rest of your life. π You are still taking piano as well (which you don’t truly love, but do so to make your Mama smile.)
We are so proud of you Brooks Vaughn. Not just proud of your academic accomplishments and extra-curricular talents, but proud of who God is molding you to be. You are kind, loving, trustworthy, and a good friend to so many. You’re always encouraging others and if there is ever a problem that you seem worried about, the first thing you say to me is, “Mom, we need to pray about this.” We were lying in bed the other night, turning on T.O.T.S. (Bc that’s your favorite thing to watch before bed), and the Democratic National Convention was on t.v. You looked at me and asked who would be our next President. I told you that I didn’t know, but I hoped that they would change policies for the better. You looked at me and grabbed my hand and then said, “We should pray about that.” Then you quietly said a 20-second prayer and it brought me to tears.
It brought me to tears because you get it! At the age of 10, you know how important it is to bring our requests to God. To thank Him, to pray when we don’t know what else to do, and to trust Him with all our hearts. ❤️
We love you so much, sweet boy! Happy Birthday!!
