Reese's Birthday PARTY

Reese had her birthday party on the Saturday after her actual birthday at Climb Bentonville.  It was so much fun to watch her and her sweet friends.  This was our first time to experience this awesome facility.  I can't wait to go back and climb myself.

Reese Turns 7

Aven Reese, it is so hard for me to believe that you are already 7 years old.  I say it every year...how is this possible?  First grade is off to a fast start and you're doing well in Mrs. Pulkrabek's class and always coming home with new learnings and I love it.  Your Daddy gets to take you to school in the morning, so he gets that one on one time to talk to you.  I pick you up 3 days a week and therefore, that is my time to get as much info out of you as I possibly can ;) In all seriousness, I love hearing about your day.  From what you learned, to who you sat by at lunch, to what you played at recess, every. little. detail. 

You are playing the piano for the second year, and you are doing gymnastics again this semester.  I love watching you learn and grow in these activities.  

You asked for lots of baby things for your birthday.  You love to play with your American Girl dolls, baby Bitty, and your Baby Alive.  I LOVE that you still want to play baby dolls!!  We got you a double stroller and high chair for your dolls and of course lots of "accessories" from the catalogue.  You received a new adventure Bible, a tablet, shoes, clothes, and all sorts of other fun stuff. (Think slime, paint, friendship bracelet maker, squishies, etc).  I'm pretty sure you had a FABULOUS birthday! 

Off to school as a 7 year old 

Birthday lunch with my girl.  She wanted Sonic :) It was so much fun getting to sit with her and her sweet friends.

She wanted to celebrate her family birthday dinner at Tacos for Life.  I love that she picked this place because with every meal we buy, a child in need is fed.

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend was VERY MUCH NEEDED.  With the hustle and bustle of school starting, having a 3 day weekend to unwind and rest was amazing.  Kyndall and Blake came in town with the kids and we spent all day Saturday and Sunday on the lake with family.  We had so much fun.  We anchored the boat at our regular cove at Indian Creek on Beaver Lake and just let the kids swim and play.  We grilled out at the farm on Saturday and ordered pizzas on Sunday.  It was the BEST weekend.

Monday, we slept in and caught up on things around the house and took the kids to the pool that afternoon.  Matt was even home with us, which rarely happens on a holiday.  It was the perfect ending to our weekend.  

So Long Summer....

With school starting back, we are desperately trying to get back to routine.  It's so hard after a Summer full of kids sleeping in, late nights playing with neighbors, and soaking up all the unplanned fun and sunshine.


School is off to a great start with both Reese and Brooks, and I am very thankful for that.  We've been having lots of fun as we're finding our new season of normal.  Last Saturday night we celebrated our dear friend Elizabeth Shelby who turned 40! Her sweet hubs planned a surprise party at Tavola and it was just wonderful.  We're so thankful for this family and their friendship.

 Jack's birthday was in July, and since we were in LA for the holiday, we didn't get to celebrate him. Something that we have started doing is taking our cousins out to eat at their choice of a restaurant and the letting them pick dessert.  We celebrated Jack last week and his choice was Dairy Queen.  We ate dinner and then went to Andy's.  It was a wonderful night!

The holiday weekend is HERE!!!  Our crew had a WILD Friday night at Cracker Barrel with some ice cream at Braum's.  I love celebrating the weekends!

We're headed to the lake ALLLLLL weekend!!  Looking forward to some down time and relaxation!
