My beautiful Mamaw, Rosemary Garner, passed away on Monday, December 14. She was 88 years old and one of the most wonderful people I have ever known. Not only was her heart one that was full of generosity and love, but she was outwardly just as beautiful. She loved her family and so many others fiercely, but loved the Lord more than anything else.
She had fallen 4 days before and was very bruised, had a broken nose, and we thought a possible brain bleed. She did not want to go to the hospital, as she knew that during COVID they would admit her, and we wouldn't see her. She had been on oxygen for a while and her CHF had gotten worse. She had no desire to have someone move in to help and really didn't want to go to a nursing home. It was the mighty work of the Lord, calling her home when He did.
My dad was with her, and getting her ready for a doctors appointment, when she slumped over in her chair and just passed. It was as if God was saying, "I don't want her to go through all of this, I'm bringing her home." We are so fortunate that my Dad had spent the past 4 days with her and that she passed with him by her side, and in her home.
We love our sweet Mamaw so very much and will miss her dearly; but we know that we will be with her again one day, with Jesus, in Heaven.
We had her visitation on December 17 at Rollins Funeral home. A private family burial was done by Walton Hook on Friday morning, the 18th. We have laid her to rest and know that she is home with her parents, her brother, Papaw, and Aunt Nancie. It will be a wonderful day when we are all together again.
Great Grandchildren
