August Memories - 2025

This year, Reese participated in the Perry Ryan Theater Camp again and the play they performed was Frozen.  She played a small part as one of the townspeople.  She and all the neighbors had so much fun and I’m always so impressed that this company can put on such an amazing production within just 2 weeks. Reese had quite the fan club watching her and we’re so grateful for our people.  I love that she participates in this - she is so well rounded and we are so proud of her. ❤️

Matt and I celebrated our 16th anniversary with a night out at Ruth’s Chris.

In August, we surprised Matt’s dad with an 80th birthday celebration. I believe he thought we were just going to dinner as a family, however, we rented out the back room at Waterfront in Monroe and invited many of his lifelong friends and family.  It was such a beautiful day.  Mr. Larry is the salt of the earth, and it was an honor to celebrate him.

That evening, we went to dinner at Genusas and then to the new hotel in downtown Monroe for drinks with our LA crew.  It’s rare that we’re all together in one place so we took full advantage of it.

My parents went on a two week Viking Cruise.  I love that they were able to get away with friends to explore the world.

We had a blast at the Avett Brothers concert with friends.

And, last but not least…school started back! We have a 7th grader at the junior high this year, and a 5th grader at the middle school.  It’s still wild to me that we’re finished with elementary school 😢  I pray every day that they will have a great year.
