Thanksgiving Break

This Thanksgiving break was truly the best!  I feel so refreshed and ready to close out this year after being able to spend a week with my two little loves and family.  I know how blessed I am to be able to take this time off and I never take it for granted.

We started our Monday off going to High Rise (the trampoline park) and the kids had a blast.  I was letting them jump, while I sat to the side and just watched.  But after being there about 45 minutes, Brooks came up to me and asked why I didn’t want to play with them.  (Cue the tears!) You better believe I walked over there, paid my $13, and spent the next hour jumping and bouncing around with my two little nuggets.  It was so much fun and I could see their eyes light up every time I bounced into the pit. 🤩

We spent our lunch having a picnic in the living room and then went to eat at Outback on Monday night for Landon’s birthday.  It was a great time with family.

Tuesday, we slept in.  Actually, who am I kidding??  Every morning we slept in. Our normal is to get up around 5:00, so sleeping in to us was getting out of bed between 6:30 and 7:00.  It was MAGNIFICENT!!❤️  We went to see the movie The Grinch on Tuesday at noon with the Garner crew.  It was the cutest Grinch movie I’ve ever seen.  We’re taking Matt back to see it during the holiday break.  I loved it so much!

Wednesday, I spent most of the day cooking.  I made a broccoli and rice casserole, chocolate chip cake, monster cookies, and was in charge of rolls.  The kids helped me too.  After being in the kitchen all day, I decided picking up Chuy’s sounded good for dinner.🌮

On Thanksgiving Day, we went to Mom and Dad’s. We arrived around noon and had quite the spread! Seriously... so blessed to have so much food. We enjoyed lunch together, the kids rode the barrel train and all the power wheels, the guys went out to shoot skeet, the girls enjoyed a glass of wine, and we say around laughing and visiting the entire evening.  It was a very blessed day!

Friday, I did some shopping from the comfort of my home.  I did have to sneak out with the kids to grab a gift card for Kristen for about 10 minutes, but I bribed them into it by including lunch at
Chick-Fil-A. That night, when Matt got off work, we headed to Kristen's birthday party in Bella Vista.  She turned 40 on the 24th of November.  We had a great night celebrating her and visiting with family and friends.

Saturday, we had a lazy day.  It was wonderful.  I went to Barre at 8:00 and we spent the rest of the day enjoying our Christmas trees and watching movies.  Saturday night, Matt and I had a date night.  We went to eat at Bonefish and then went to the mall to do a little bit of Christmas shopping together. It was such a great night.

We went to church Sunday morning, grabbed lunch and spent the rest of the day getting ready to get back to our routine.  It was just a wonderful week and I loved every minute of it.  I am so grateful for the time off and can't wait for Christmas break.  Just 3 weeks of work left in the year!
