Dad had his surgery on January 25 and they removed approximately one foot of his colon. In the process, they also took 22 lymph nodes to see if the cancer had spread at all. Praise God there was not cancer in ANY of the lymph nodes. I have been overjoyed the past 2 months with this news and cannot stop thanking God for answering every one of our specific prayers.
Dad stayed in the hospital a few nights, had his staples removed last week, and is recovering well.
On another note, I'm pretty sure we're going to hit our deductible before the end of March. 😳 I went to the dermatologist at the beginning of February and had 5 spots frozen off that were precancerous and have another spot on my leg that has come back as squamous cell carcinoma. I had that cut out at the end of February and am in the process of healing. Meanwhile, Brooks is getting over strep throat and has been fighting a viral infection on the back of his leg. Yep! Just give us all the doctors bills. Thankfully, after another visit to the dermatologist, Brooks should be over this before too long.
We're looking forward to a little time off for Spring Break!
