Easter 2016

We had a very blessed Easter weekend this year.  Our weekend festivities started off with the Annual Hyde Park Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning.  The kiddos had fun hunting eggs and we had tons of great food to devour with neighbors.  Afterwards, the kids enjoyed some fun in the bounce house.  We live in an awesome neighborhood and absolutely LOVE IT!

On Sunday morning, the Easter bunny left baskets full of goodies!  In fact, he may have gone a little overboard. I think he heard we were going to the beach in September, so he left Reese and Brooks a couple of bathing suits, sandals, a few outfits, some bubbles and golf clubs to play with outside, some coloring books, and a few toys.  (Side note...reign it in next year, Mom!)  The kids were so excited and I cherish those little faces that light up.

After baskets, we headed off to a wonderful church service with our church family and to Bible class.  Then, Mom made an AMAZING lunch for all of us (Bourbon ham, hash brown casserole, green beans, cream corn, bread, a green salad, strawberry pretzel salad, a peanut butter pie, and chocolate chip cheesecake). Seriously...it makes my mouth water just typing that!  Everyone was at our house for dinner and the big Easter egg hunt.  And let's not forget how spoiled all these cousins are.  Not only did the Easter bunny come see each of them at their own homes...but Mimi and Papaw, and Great-Mamaw each brought them more Easter baskets.  I'm telling you, these kiddos are blessed to be so loved!!!

We were so blessed to have a wonderful family Easter.  We have so many things to be thankful for,  but our greatest blessing is that Jesus rose from the grave after being sacrificed on the cross so that we might one day spend eternity with our Lord.  I hope we are all grateful for what Easter Sunday truly is about!!!
